Following the recent fire accidents of private luxury buses - one near Mahbubnagar and another near Haveri, the RTA is on its toes to ensure safety of the passengers.
The RTA raided a check near Shamashabad and conducted random checks on the private buses and found most were travelling without proper papers. RTA officers seized five private tourist buses.
RTA also conducted a raid near Rangareddy district on the Hyderabad – Vijaywada highway and seized 6 buses. According to one of the officers, the license for these buses were given as a tourist permit but the buses are moving as stage carrier which is supposed to be a huge loss for the RTA, hence these buses were seized. In Guntur too, the officers seized four private buses at Chilakaluru peta. "The private buses are illegally acquiring license and the owners are responsible for the deaths of many. We will not let that happen again," said the RTA person at Guntur.
It is a known fact that RTA has conducted raids earlier roo, but it was only for the time being, let's see how long will they continue this as a serious affair.
