Archaeological Survey of India has created a new circle with its headquarters at Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh after bifurcating its Hyderabad circle, a notification issued by Dr Rakesh Tiwari, Director General of ASI, in this regard here on Wednesday said the new circle was carved out for better preservation and maintenance of Centrally protected monuments, 

New Delhi: Archaeological Survey of India has created a new circle with its headquarters at Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh after bifurcating its Hyderabad circle, a notification issued by Dr Rakesh Tiwari, Director General of ASI, in this regard here on Wednesday said the new circle was carved out for better preservation and maintenance of Centrally protected monuments,

archaeological sites and remains located in Anantapur, Chittoor, Cuddapah, Guntur, East Godavari, Krishna, Kurnool, Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and West Godavari districts with immediate effect.

However, both the circles of Amaravati and Hyderabad would function from the existing premises at Hyderabad until the capital of AP is shifted to Amaravati, the notification said.
