Vijayawada:Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inspect ongoing works at the Krishnaveni ghat near Prakasam barrage on Thursday. The district administration is constructing bathing ghats and providing other facilities at the bath.

District Collector Babu A and Krishna Pushkaralu special officer B Rajasekhar on Wednesday inspected the bathing ghats and decided to conduct trial run for three days before the Pushkaralu.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu would inspect the Krishnaveni ghat. He said the Krishnaveni ghat would be developed as the Model ghat as most pilgrims likely to take bath at this ghat.

He said five railway stations and 12 temporary bus stations play very important role during the Krishna Pushkaralu for movement of pilgrims.

Pushkara Nagar to come up at Gunadala rly stn.Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner G Veerapandian instructed the officials on Wednesday to make arrangements at the Gunadala railway station for setting up Pushkar Nagar for the convenience of pilgrims.

The Commissioner along with officials inspected the Gunadala railway station and ordered the officials to increase the height of the area so that Pushkar Nagar can be set up for the convenience of pilgrims. It may be mentioned that the Railways have decided to develop the Gunadala railway station and provide a halt during the Krishna Pushkaralu.

The district administration is arranging Pushkar Nagars to provide basic amenities like shelter, drinking water, toilets and other facilities. City Mayor Koneru Sridhar inspected the UDA park near Varadhi on Wednesday for setting up Pushkara Nagar.

He suggested the municipal officials to use the park land for parking of vehicles and to set up Pushkar Nagar because it was very near to Krishna river.

The Mayor felt the pilgrims can park their vehicles at the UDA park and go to Krishna river for the holy dip. The officials will have to take a decision on setting up Pushkar ghats.
