The soak pit (Inkudu guntha) at Tirupati Sub Collector’s office was seen brimming with rainwater thanks to the copious rain fall of 155.6 mm that the pilgrim city received during the last two days. The soak pits in other government offices in the city also proved immensely useful in harvesting rainwater doing a little bit in recharging the groundwater.
