Warns traders of stringent action, if food items, water bottles are sold at exorbitant prices
He made this surprise check in view of the allegations levelled against the traders in the shopping mall that exorbitant prices were being charged.Prathipati told the traders that they received information that the water bottles, pop corn and other food items were sold at excess price.

He said that the food inspectors would serve notice and action would be taken on the traders for collecting excess price than the prescribed on the water bottles.“There is lot of variation in price of the products sold in the shopping malls and other places,” he noted.

He visited the stalls of KFC, Dominos, Lunch Box, Nutrifish and spoke to the staff and the customers and said in no uncertain terms that stringent action would be taken on the traders, if they try to cheat customers by charging exorbitant prices.

Legal metrology department officials have booked seven cases on the restaurants and traders on Monday, during the visit of the minister. Earlier, the food inspectors and the officials of the legal metrology department conducted raid on Inox in Gandhi Nagar and collected samples to check the quality of the food items being sold.
