Survey to be held on status of children in 18 slums

Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sumit Kumar Gandhi has said the government is very much particular to provide nutritious food to pregnant women and children also.

Participating in one-day training class held on ‘Save the Children’ programme here on Tuesday, he said Urban Micro Nutrition Improvement Project (UMNIP) is conducting the programme and it would survey pregnant women and children of below five years residing in 18 slums in the city.

He congratulated UMNIP for taking up the programme. He assured to extend necessary help from the corporation.

Vikas Gora, Dr Raja Sriswan, Joy Deep, Antyarmi Des, corporation and ICDS staff were present.
