Awareness programme on EVMs organised
An awareness programme on EVMs and VVPATs was organised for media persons and local people at RDO office here on Friday
Kakinada: An awareness programme on EVMs and VVPATs was organised for media persons and local people at RDO office here on Friday.
Addressing the meet, Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation nodal officer S Malli Babu said that as per the directive of Election Commission of India (ECI) they have planned to organise awareness programmes for four lakh voters.
He also said that as of now they have created awareness to half of their target across the district covering cross section of people right from common man to intellectuals.
The remaining two lakh out of the total target of 4 lakh will be covered in the next 10 days, Malli Babu said.
RDO and returning officer of Kakinada assembly constituency G Rajakumari said that they were creating awareness on systematic electoral process.
On this occasion, mock polling through EVMs was shown to those who attended the programme.
