6 held for diversion of PDS rice
The Task Force and the Civil Supplies department, in a joint operation, raided godowns of PDS in Shadnagar and Chatrinaka and seized 184 quintals of PDS rice. They also apprehended six persons for indulging in procurement of rice at a lower price and black-marketing the same.
Hyderabad: The Task Force and the Civil Supplies department, in a joint operation, raided godowns of PDS in Shadnagar and Chatrinaka and seized 184 quintals of PDS rice. They also apprehended six persons for indulging in procurement of rice at a lower price and black-marketing the same.
During the investigation by the Task Force, Alli Gopal, 33, a farmer and five others were found to be procuring PDS rice from different levels at Rs 7 per kg and were diverting the same to Shadnagar, Mahabubnagar and Kurnool at a higher price. It was also found that some of the arrested were diverting PDS rice from Gowlipura to Rajendranagar in an auto trolley and from there to Kurnool in a DCM a vehicle.
