SCB to spend Rs 2cr for maintenance in 2014-15

Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) conducted its first meeting after the formation of Telangana on Wednesday, which incidentally is its last meeting of this tenure, as the term of ward members expires in June. The next meeting would be held with the newly elected body after a couple of months. The meeting was attended by Brig Sunil Bodhe, president, Sujatha Gupta, chief executive officer, G Sayanna, MLA and other government officials.

The SCB has estimated an expenditure of Rs 2 crore for the current financial year for maintenance and repair of roads, drains and buildings. The board has taken a decision to install a grid interactive solar power plant under the SCB limits to reduce the burden of electricity charges every month. PEC Ltd and JNNSM (Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission) have come forward to implement the project. The board will also take up desilting works of open drains in all the eight ward of the SCB ahead of the monsoon season. The SCB will also revise the legal fee of SCB advocates and increase the panel of advocates to ensure effective and speedy disposal of various court cases. The last pay revision of advocates was done in the year 2000. The board also plans to take up a survey of defence land and fix boundary pillars.
