The Avani Foundation organised ‘Jalam-Jeevam’, an awareness programme on the importance of rainwater harvesting for boosting groundwater, under the aegis of HMWSSB in Government High School for Boys here, with Assistant Director Jala Satyanarayana as the chief guest.

West Marredpally: The Avani Foundation organised ‘Jalam-Jeevam’, an awareness programme on the importance of rainwater harvesting for boosting groundwater, under the aegis of HMWSSB in Government High School for Boys here, with Assistant Director Jala Satyanarayana as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Satyanarayana stated that rain water could be saved by building harvesting structures. He said the programme was being organised to educate students and to inform their parents.

Representatives of various NGOs were taking up such awareness programme during house-to-house campaigns. He underlined the importance of not wasting water ‘which is a lifeline’. Addressing the gathering, CEOs Solomon Raj (Avani Foundation), Surender (Safe Earth Foundation), Srisailam (Moksha Foundation), Sivaram (Waves Society) called for efforts to judiciously use water for conserving groundwater.
