Vikarabad: District Joint Collector Arunakumarihas warned people of severe consequences if found ill-treating parents and unleashing violence against them. During Prajavani, a public grievance redressal programme, held here on Monday, a CPI member submitted to authorities a representation expressing concern over highhanded behavior of sons towards their aged parents or harassing them or unleashing violence towards them.
An elderly person Narayana, from Mominpet brought the harassment he has been faced by his son Kalappa. He complained that local police did not take his complaint though he made several rounds. Reacting to his complaint, the JC said not only the sons but also the daughters have a responsibility to take good care of their parents. She warned such people of initiating stern action against them. She directed people lodging such complaints to lodge them with the revenue divisional officer.
