Addl CCTVs to be set up in Cyberabad

As part of future plans for enhanced security, Cyberabad police on Wednesday decided to install additional Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at IT companies, commercial establishments, prominent public places situated in Cyberabad area. This has been decided in the first executive meeting held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate organised by Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC). Commissioner C V Anand presided over the meeting.

Hyderabad: As part of future plans for enhanced security, Cyberabad police on Wednesday decided to install additional Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at IT companies, commercial establishments, prominent public places situated in Cyberabad area. This has been decided in the first executive meeting held at the Cyberabad Commissionerate organised by Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC). Commissioner C V Anand presided over the meeting.
The SCSC Secretary V Srinivasa Prasad said that completion of the 2nd phase CCTV project costing Rs 1.5 crores funded by the council, has reached 47 of 49 KMs of exclusive Optic Fiber Cable (OFC) network. He stated that the culprits in ‘Nikhil More Case’, 27 accidents, theft and hit-and-run cases were traced through CCTV.
In the meeting, the update of CCTV coverage from 95 per cent to 100 per cent by taking the power connections from nearby IT-Companies, to add night vision cameras on SCSC Optic Fiber Network for better coverage and to convene traffic co-ordination meetings with IT-Company representatives and traffic police have also been resolved. Traffic DCP Avinash Mohanty suggested all the members of the SCSC to be cautious on traffic issues in IT areas. Joint CP M Shiva Prasad has been elected as vice chairman of SCSC.
Representatives of IT companies include Gunalan of Infosys, Krishna of Polaris, Kiran Kumar of Facebook, Arindam of Deloitte, Naresh Yadav of Ascendas and many others participated in the meeting.
