Minister unveils Ambedkar statue

Kurnool: Paying glowing tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar here on Sunday, Minister for Minor Irrigation TG Venkatesh unveiled the bronze statue of the late leader erected at a cost of Rs. 5.25 lakh in the heart of the city. He said that everyone should remember the great sacrifices of the freedom fighters in general and the leader like Ambedkar who was instrumental in framing the world's longest written Constitution. He said the Kiran Kumar Reddy government had framed the SC, ST sub plan for the welfare of the downtrodden. The minister said that criminal cases would be filed against people who paste posters or tie festoons to the great leaders' statues. Several artistes presented various art forms and enthralled the audience.
