Hyderabad: Members of Gandhi Hospital Outsourcing Servicing & Sanitation Central Workers Struggle Committee affiliated to AITUC and CITU, on Saturday, gheraoed Health Minister Laxma Reddy, Commercial Taxes Minister T Srinivas Yadav, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, when they visited the hospital.

A Narasimhulu, general secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress of Greater Hyderabad Zone submitted a memorandum urging the ministers to resolve their long-pending issues like regularisation of service, hike in wages on par with permanent staff as per Tenth Pay Revision Commission.

He said Gandhi Hospital nurses, sanitation and security staff numbering over 900 had been working on contract wages for the past 10 years.

Though, they were awaiting regularisation of their services, since formation of the Telangana State, nothing was done till date. The Health Minister promised to take up the issue with the State government to redress their legitimate demands.
