DGP transfers ‘doctors firing’ case to CCS

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police on Monday directed the City and Cyberabad Police Commissioners to handover the case of doctors firing at Himayatnagar to the Central Crime Station team for investigation.

Kantha, wife of deceased Dr Shashi Kumar, on Monday approached DGP Anurag Sharma requesting him to ensure justice to her in the firing case in which her husband Dr Shashi Kumar who was accused of firing at his partner killed himself.

It is reported that Kantha was unhappy with the investigation of the Narayanguda and Moinabad police and requested the DGP to deliver justice. Earlier, she alleged that her husband was killed by the assailants hired by Dr Uday and Dr Sai Kumar.

On February 8, miffed over partnership dispute with his partners, Dr Shashi Kumar opened fire at Dr Uday, Managing Director of Laurels Hospitals, in the presence of another partner Dr Sai Kumar, with his licensed .32 mm revolver in the by-lanes of Himayatnagar in Narayanguda police station limits.

Dr Uday Kumar who suffered an ear injury was admitted to a nearby private hospital and was treated. On the same night, Dr Shashi was found dead at his friend’s farmhouse in Moinabad. The police confirmed that Shashi had shot himself and ended his life.
