School kids do their bit to help classmate
Mahabubabad (Warangal): In a Good Samaritan act a group of school children has come forward to help their classmate, who is an orphan, to buy notebooks and also a school bag. Highlighting the importance of sharing what one has got with the needy, nearly 40 students of Zilla Parishad Secondary School at Kambalapally in Mahabubad mandal in the district have pooled up their pocket money for the noble cause supporting the orphan called Esam Devi.
Esam Devi lost her father Ramesh in 2012 and her mother died in Nov 2015. She now lives with her grandfather and is looked after by maternal uncle, who have a very poor economic background. “Here the amount the students collected might seem little but it represents how big their hearts are. And their reaction to the condition of their classmate is innate, what we did is adding a little bit of motivation” said Voore Gurunatha Rao, a teacher at the school.
Soon after the beginning of the schools the students planned to do something for their classmate and consulted their class teacher Gurunatha Rao, who said the teachers at the school would extend support to the ill fated girl. But the students wanted to help her on their own even as they are not from well to do families. On Monday in the presence of the school head master M Srinivasulu, class teacher Gurunadha Rao and other teachers, the students presented the notebooks they bought to Devi.
‘It is a touching moment for us and it proved how a little motivation could do wonders. Teachers should lead by example and make children understand significance ethical living at a young age’ the head master and the teacher said. “I am really happy over what our school children did.
Everyone should to their part to assist orphans”, the head master Srinivasulu said. The students Daravath Simhadri, V Lavanya and others said now they are also planning to buy a school bag for Esam Devi. ‘Our head master, class teacher and other teachers tell us to show concern for others and it is what we did’ they added.
