But after the formation of the State, the songs and literature have not find proper place in school textbooks. The due respect that should be paid to the songs, was lacked. The song ‘Jaya Jaya he Telangana Janani Jaya ketanam’ must be included in textbooks, he demanded while speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Sunday.
Where is the respect to the song, why it is not in textbooks, why the government has failed to express gratitude to the song? The government loses its sanctity if it could not uphold the honour of the song,” he stated.
Kaloji Foundation has presented ‘Kaloji Puraskaram’ to Ande Sri here on the day. A ‘Yadi Sabha’ in memory of people’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao was organised by the foundation in association with Mitra Mandali, Pranay Mitra Mandali, Sahrudaya Sahiti Samithi, Srujana Lokam and others.
The poet has also expressed serious displeasure at the division of Warangal district in the name of districts reorganisation. Warangal has got great history and Kakatiya kings’ Vijaya Toranam was made as the State symbol.
‘The government might feel creating 31 districts as a great achievement. But historical mistakes were being committed and they needed to be rectified. As a poet I want to be identified as a man belonging to Jangaon, which is a part of Warangal district,’ he added. Receiving Kaloji Puraskaram was a great honour, Ande Sri noted.
Noted writer Ampasayya Naveen, Kaloji Foundation members N Rama Sastry, Potlapalli Srinivasa Rao, Banna Ilaiah, VR Vidyathi and others were present. Earlier MLA E Dayakar Rao and others offered floral tributes to Kaloji statue at Kaloji Centre in Hanamkonda.
