Hanamkonda: Mayor Nannapaneni Narender has launched a broadside against Warangal DCC president Nayini Rajender Reddy for his comments against the TRS leaders. Addressing a press meet here on Monday, he said that K Chandrashekar Rao is not a sealed cover Chief Minister like the Congress high command does.

“KCR led the separate Telangana movement for over a decade. Then he won the people’s mandate to become the CM,” the Mayor said, in retort to Nayini’s comments that KCR became CM due to the mercy of AICC president Sonia Gandhi. It’s Congress’ culture to wait for the sealed cover sent by their high command to elect their leader, he added.

He said that DCC chief has no reason to criticise the MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao, who is the icon of the youth. “It’s not fair to make baseless allegations against the TRS government, which so far gave utmost importance to Warangal development,” Narender said, referring to the government’s plan to construct a stadium in the city with an outlay of Rs 25 crore.

It’s better if the Congress comes up with a constructive criticism rather than resorting to mudslinging on the government on every petty issue, he said.

Kakatiya Urban Development Authority chairman Marri Yadava Reddy advised Nayini to work for his party to get a ticket to contest, instead of blaming Warangal West MLA D Vinay Bhaskar.

The district administration will soon focus its eyes on Kakatiya University land scam and reveal the Congress leaders’ link with it, he alleged. Senior TRS leader Gudimalla Ravi Kumar and district library chairman Aziz Khan were among others present.
