Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar has ordered the closure of all liquor shops in the city for two days in view of Lok Sabha elections.

As per the order, all Toddy/Wine shops, bars attached to Restaurants, Military Canteen (including bars in Star Hotels and registered clubs) situated with the limits of twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad shall remain closed from 6 pm on April 9 to 6 pm on April 11 in connection with the General Elections to Lok Sabha Parliamentary Constituencies - 2019 to be held on April 11.

The Police Commissioner, in a separate order, informed that under Section 144 Cr PC, assembly of five or more persons in a radius of 200 metres from all the polling stations would be prohibited on the polling day on April 11 from 6 am to 8 pm.

Further, the Police Commissioner said that all voters, who may come to polling station for exercising their franchise in the twin cities, shall form queues, one for the men and another for women. Formation of more than one queue, for men voters and for women voters is not allowed.
