The Wrong Missy Movie Review: The Wrong Missy premiered on Netflix a few days ago. And it has evoked mixed reactions from the audience. It's both a hit and a miss but there are moments in the movie that is sure to give you the deja vu feeling. Before we talk about how this much talked about movie on Netflix The Wrong Missy has shaped up, let's talk about the production crew and the cast in the movie.
The Wrong Missy is Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Production's latest venture starring David Spade and Lauren Lapkus in lead roles. Directed by Tyler Spindel, the movie is about a text goof-up and the comedy of errors that follows thereafter.
Missy is an average looking woman with not so average life skills. She makes a bad first impression on a blind date with Tim. However, little does she know that she will get to spend a luxury holiday with the same person a few days later. Tim bumps into Miss Maryland Melissa Doherty played by Molly Sims at the airport and sparks fly as the duo realise their common interests. However, the two go on their respective trips after exchanging numbers. So when Tim gets a chance to go on office trip, he decides to invite Melissa to the event. So texts her or so he thinks because his message lands in the inbox of his lunatic blind date Missy. What follows is a rollercoaster ride.
Now, does this story sound familiar? Yes. It is. The plot has been done to death. However, what perhaps may work for this movie The Wrong Missy is the performance of the lead actors. They just stand out. Spade shines in his role while Lauren outdoes him with her hilarious antics in the movie. It's a laugh riot from start to finish. And if you are just looking to cheer you up and not want to judge the plot, then The Wrong Missy will leave you laughing out loud.
Verdict: Despite the plot being old wine in a new bottle, The Wrong Missy does offer some laugh worthy moments.
The Wrong Missy Rating: 3/5
