3,800 skaters to take part in Roller Skating Tourney: Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao

Visakhapatnam: The 57th National Roller Skating Championships Vizag – 2019 for sub-junior, junior, senior and masters will commence in Visakhapatnam from December 14.
The event is being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Roller Skating Association. With Visakhapatnam District Roller Sports Association acting as the host, the event is being held in association with Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh.
Around 3,800 skaters (boys and girls) will participate in the championship from across the states and Union Territories, said the association members. About 130 officials will conduct the event under the aegis of the Roller Skating Federation of India, headed by the president Tulasi Ram Agarwal and general secretary Naresh Kumar Sharma. More than 10,000 spectators from all over the country are expected to witness the event.
Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority Commissioner P Koteswara Rao and its Chairman Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao addressed the media on Saturday and shared the details of the event.
Apart from accommodation, transport facility was arranged for the skaters by the association. While the inaugural is scheduled at VUDA Park on December 19 at 12 noon, the closing ceremony will be held at the same venue on December 23.
Speed skating, artistic skating, roller hockey, inline hockey, inline freestyle and skateboarding are some of the 10 disciplines where the participants will be exhibiting their skills at the event.
