    The East Godavari District Police Officers' Association has expressed outrage over the TDP leader and former minister Ayyanna Patrudu. District Police Association president Satyamurthy and secretary YRK Srinivas said the Ayyanna Patrudu should speak wisely towards the police. The duo told the media on Thursday that his words were worse than the language used by street Rowdies. The police association recalled how he used the police services while he was in power and was incensed for abusing the police for his political presence.     The city police on Thursday arrested an inter-state ganja peddling gang and seized 1,820 kg of contraband from them. The seized ganja is estimated to be of Rs 3 crore worth. Based on a specific information, the Rachakonda police intercepted a vehicle and seized the ganja that is being smuggled to Maharashtra from Sileru in Visakhapatnam. Cases were registered against the five people of the gang who were arrestedby the police. Rachakonda Commisoner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat will disclose the case details in a press conference at 3 pm.

    A woman from Hyderabad attempted suicide near the temple of Sri Brahmaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy in Srisailam. The woman consumed a poisonous substance and tried to commit suicide. People who noticed her rushed to her rescue and shifted her to a hospital. She was identified as Mounika Reddy. A copy of police complaint was found with her. The police registered a case and are yet to know the reason for her suicide. An investigation is underway.

    Telangana assembly speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy tested positive for coronavirus. Currently, Reddy is undergoing treatment at AIG in Gachibowli. Srinivas Reddy said that he does not have any health issues and was admitted to hospital on doctor's advice. The speaker pariticipated in the wedding of his granddaughter three days ago which was attended by the Chief Ministers of both the Telugu states K Chandrasekhar Rao and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, ministers, MLAs and other officials. All those who attended the wedding were asked to move into quarantine.

    Four people were held for duping people on the promise of junior assistant job in Rangareddy court complex. They also promised to provide a job as panchayat secretary on temporary basis. The accused collected Rs 1.11 lakh from the job aspirants for junior assistant job. Based on the complaint of a victim, the Rachakonda police registered a case and arrested the fraudsters.
