Musheerabad: The selected teachers association held a meeting here at BC Bhavan on Thursday. The candidates demanded that the state government give immediate posting orders to them. The meeting decided to hold 'Chalo Hyderabad' programme to protest against the delay in posting orders.

R Krishnaiah, who attended the meeting as chief guest, said that the candidates and their families had been undergoing tremendous mental agony due to delay in giving postings to the selected teacher candidates even after the final list of candidates was finalised and the file was sent to CM's office, he said. He condemned apathy of the state government and CM in responding to the issue despite several protests by the candidates.

He alleged a deliberate conspiracy by the state government to destroy education system in the state. As part of the conspiracy, the government had not recruited the selected teachers so that the schools could be closed, he alleged. He demanded that the state government recruit 50,000 vacant teacher posts. Krishnaiah warned the state government of starting a state-wide movement against the government if the posts were not filled.

The meeting decided to organize hunger strikes on May 26 in Hyderabad protesting delay in issuing postings. BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Dasu Suresh, Lakshman, G Krishna Yadav, Sathyanarayana, Naresh Goud, Uday Yadav and others participated in the meeting.
