Kurnool: Joint Collector P Ravi Subash gave a call to people to create awareness on AIDS. He participated as chief guest for a programme organised at Sunaina Auditorium here on Saturday, on the occasion of World AIDS Day.
He stated HIV prevalence in the district has declined sharply in 2018 compare to 2009. HIV patients need not to be worried as adequate medicines are available and the disease can be cured completely, the Joint Collector said.
Ravi Prakash has instructed the Medical and Health Department officials to conduct awareness programmes extensively so that people can gain more knowledge about the dreadful disease.
Prior to the meeting, city MLA SV Mohan Reddy flagged off a massive rally at the Collectorate. The rally which began at the Collectorate Complex has concluded at Raj Vihar Centre.
DMHO JVVRK Prasad, Additional DMHOs P Chandra Rao and Saraswathi Devi and others participated in the meeting.
