Bachchan family invests in Ziddu.com. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his actor son Abhishek Bachchan have invested close to $250,000 (nearly Rs 1.59 crore) in Ziddu.com owned by Singapore-based Meridian TechPte Limited, for an unspecified minority stake.

Ziddu.com is one of the leading free cloud storage, e-distribution and micro payment platforms. Currently, it is rated as the top five file sharing sites across the world. “I am very happy and excited that Amitabh Bachchan has reposed confidence and trust on Ziddu.com,” said Venkata Srinivas Meenavalli, founder and chief executive, Meridian TechPte Limited.
He further said the Bollywood’s leading family would invest more in coming months. The Bachchan family used Reserve Bank of India (RBI)'s Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) to make the overseas investment. Under the LRS, RBI allows Indian citizens to invest $125,000 a year overseas.
According to Meenavalli, Ziddu.Com is currently generating 1.2 billion page views with over 300 million visitors per month from more than 225 countries. The company clocked $20 million in total revenues last year.
