All India Congress Committee AICC Spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan alleged that the Narender Modi Government at the Centre was not for the common people, but only for entrepreneurs like Ambanis and Adanis
Hyderabad: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan alleged that the Narender Modi Government at the Centre was not for the common people, but only for entrepreneurs like Ambanis and Adanis.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Sravan accused Prime Minister Narender Modi of mortgaging the interest of the country to benefit a few individuals like Anil Ambani. He alleged that PM Modi went into hiding to evade a reply on Rafale scam. He demanded that the Central Government constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe into the Rafale scam.
Sravan said that the Congress party has released the audio clip of Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane wherein he claimed that former Defence Minister and present Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had all files pertaining to Rafale in his bedroom. Instead of facing the truth, he alleged that PM Modi has been hiding to hush up a defence scam of over Rs. 40,000 crore. Further, he said that the Prime Minister needs to answer as to why his government purchased Rafale aircrafts at escalated prices of Rs. 1650 crore each instead of Rs. 526 crore which was finalised during the previous UPA regime. He said that the government owe an explanation on why the contract was snatched from HAL, a public sector unit with huge experience in defence manufacturing, and given to Anil Ambani's company with no previous experience. By doing so, PM Modi has not only compromised on national security, but also on national wealth, he said.
He said that Rahul Gandhi's demand for a JPC probe was not being accepted only due to the fear that they would get completely exposed.
Sravan also ridiculed PM Modi's statement given in an interview to a news channel that he was not aware of the Federal Front which Telangana Chief Minister and TRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao was planning to constitute. Describing it as the biggest joke of 2019, he said KCR has been touring the entire country in the name of Federal Front. By feigning total ignorance about it, Modi is trying to mislead the people, he said. KCR, he said, has been trying to form a Federal Front at the instance of Narender Modi with the only aim to split anti-BJP parties and votes. However, he said that the leadership of Congress president Rahul Gandhi has been receiving tremendous response across the country and many like-minded parties are joining hands to defeat the BJP in next elections.
The Congress leader said Modi has referred to the defeat of 'Praja Kutami' in Telangana Assembly elections to claim that the proposed grand alliance at the national level would meet the same fate. Sravan said PM Modi should realise that the BJP has been almost wiped out of Telangana in Assembly elections. He alleged that PM Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah have cheated the candidates of their own party. He said Modi and Amit Shah have entered into a secret deal with TRS and even killed the interest of their own party in Telangana just to prevent Congress from coming to power. He pointed that the Congress had won 22 seats in 2014 and this time it could win only 19 seats. However, he said BJP's tally in Assembly has come down from 5 in 2014 to just 1 in 2018. He said BJP candidates lost their deposit in 105 seats.
Earlier, TPCC Working President Ponnam Prabhakar and ex-MLA T. Jeevan Reddy felicitated Sravan and congratulated him on being elevated as the AICC Spokesperson.
