Nellore: While the APNGOs are organizing the ‘Save Andhra Pradesh’ rally in Hyderabad, the supports of Samaikyandhra are carrying on with the movement in the district by holding protests in a novel way on the 38th day of the agitation. The JCBs and the Poclain operators held a huge rally with their vehicles protesting against the bifurcation of the State.
The JCB took out a rally from Haranathapuramu and passed through the Venkata Reddy statue, VRC, Madras bus stand and Gandhi statue and finally reached the Atmakur bus stand. Later, after garlanding the statue of Potti Sriramulu, the supporters of Samaikyandhra formed a human chain. In Kavali, the YSR Congress Party leaders Kakani Goverdhan Reddy took part in the dharna in support of Samaikyandhra in the backdrop of YS Sharmila’s bus yatra in Atmakur on September 8. Speaking to the media, he lashed out at the Congress and Telugu Desam Party for their failure to keep the State united.
The relay hunger strikes reached the 27th day in the district. In Gandipalem village of Udayagiri mandal, the 95-year-old disciple of Potti Sriramulu, Ankaiah Choudhary, undertook a fast unto death.
