The party delegation led by Telangana unit president L Ramana called on the Speaker at NIMS Hospitals where he is undergoing treatment for the last one week. He fell sick while participating in Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds on June 2 in the city.

The TDP leaders brought to the notice of the Speaker that poaching of its MLAs by TRS attracted anti-defection law. Under the Act, the membership of the TDP members should be cancelled with immediate effect, but no action was taken so far, they said.

Speaking to newsmen later, Ramana said the party leaders urged the Speaker to take action against the turncoats as the High Court also directed him to act immediately based on the petition filed by the TDP.

He said Speaker assured that he would take a decision in accordance with the laws after being discharged from the hospital. TDP MLAs T Srinivasa Yadav (Sanath Nagar), T Krishna Reddy (Maheswaram), Dharma Reddy (Parakala), M Kishan Reddy (Ibrahimpatnam) and M Krishna Rao (Kukatpalli) joined TRS .
