Shashidhar Reddy demands dismissal of Somesh Kumar
Congress senior leader and former MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Saturday demanded that former GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar be dismissed from service for his alleged role in deletion of lakhs of voters from the electoral rolls in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and former MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy on Saturday demanded that former GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar be dismissed from service for his alleged role in deletion of lakhs of voters from the electoral rolls in Hyderabad.
Speaking to media persons here, Shashidhar Reddy said the Telangana State government had only transferred Somesh Kumar to some other department.
He said Somesh Kumar deserved to be dismissed from service for his actions. He also demanded action against Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal for not taking any action on the complaints.
Shashidhar Reddy claimed that he had furnished the proof of illegal deletion of voters' names to the Central team of Election Commission of India which is presently probing the issue in Hyderabad. He said nearly 25,000 names were deleted in Sanathnagar Assembly constituency alone.
