She inspected the installation of GPS devices in the transport vehicles at MLS point in the town on Saturday. The CCS & Managing Director, TSCSCL, Hyderabad had appointed ‘Trans Global Geometrics’ representatives for installing GPS devices in stage-I and stage-II transport vehicles in all the districts.

As part of this, the installation works of GPS devices is going on at MLS point godown in all the transport vehicles of stage-I and stage-II in Khammam.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Collector Divya said illegal transportation of PDS rice could be stopped with the GPS tracking system through online and along with mapping all the Fair Price shops present in the district.

The main objective was to continuously track the movement of vehicles to ensure that the ration commodities are properly and timely delivered to the rations shops and were not diverted to the open market, she added. The GPS tracking devices were installed in 17 stage-I vehicles and for 14 stage-II vehicles till date, Joint Collector Divya said.

Civil Supply department Manager K Satyavathi, Assistant Manager Narasimha Murthy, Sections Assistant Srujana and MLS point in-charge D Venu Kumar and Trans Global Geometrics representative Naresh were present along with others.
