Hyderabad: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Working) President Pravin Togadia said that Parliament should pass an Act to pave the way for the construction of Sri Ram temple in Ayodhya on the lines of Somnath temple.Addressing the VHP and Bajrang Dal activists in the Akhil Bharatiya Adhiveshan held in the city on Sunday, Togadia said that there was only one way for the construction of the temple at Ayodhya and that way was shown by former Deputy Prime Minister and Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabhai Patel.

“Sardar did not go and touch anybody’s beard and neither had he approached any court. Patel saw to it that the temple was constructed with the help of Union government and Parliament,” said Togadia. The VHP working president said that the judiciary cannot resolve issues relating to faith and added that it would take another 50 years to get a decision on the temple.

“People argue that we are fighting for a temple but we are not. There are many temples in the country… this is for the birthplace of Lord Rama. I can construct temple anywhere in the country but how can I relocate the Ram Janma Bhoomi even by a single foot,” said Togadia.

Stating that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior BJP leader LK Advani were born in Pakistan, he asked, “Can I change the birthplace of these leaders who were born in Pakistan and make it as Hyderabad? Hindus should understand this is not for temple but for ‘Janmsthan’ and temple will be constructed there.”
