Visakhapatnam: Preparations are underway to conduct ‘Samaikyandhra Maha Garjana’ in the city for which the lead would be taken by head of Chaitanya Group of Educational Institutions and MLC Chaitanya Raju in association with Andhra University Ikya Vidyardhi Front.
Mr Chaitanya Raju, who was touring the city for the past two days to participate in various Samaikyandhra protests, told reporters here on Sunday that it was unfortunate the Centre was reluctant to go back on the ‘T’ decision even though the agitation entered 33rd day on Sunday. He said he was discussing the meeting arrangements with Front convenor Prof. Prasada Rao, other leaders Syamsunder Naidu, Syamprasad Mala, Prof. Surappadu, Pithani Prasad, Prof. Arjun and Botta Ramachander. The date and venue would be disclosed shortly.
Mr Chaitanya Raju said he was the first MLC to submit the resignation and join the movement as bifurcation of the State would severely affect education, employment and agriculture. He said it was proposed to involve as many as five lakh persons from all Joint Action Committees (JACs) of teachers, NGOs, doctors, advocates, professionals, intellectuals, student organisations, general public, civic staff and employees of private organisations in all the 13 districts in the ‘Maha Garjana’. “The agitation will continue till the Centre rolls back the proposed bifurcation of the State,” he added.
