Kakinada / Vizianagaram: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu called upon the 98 lakh self-help group (SHGs) members to vote him back to power for the sake of good governance and continue the good work that is going on now for uplift of poor and to develop the state on all fronts.
Addressing the party activists, booth committee members and leaders at Vizianagaram and Kakinada in East Godavari on Sunday, the Chief Minister sought to drive home the message of welfare and development apart from attacking opposition YSRCP, which he said was intent upon "looting" the state.
Addressing the meeting at Vidyut Grounds in Kakinanda, Naidu asked the party booth, mandal, ward committee members numbering 65 lakh to strive for the victory of 150 MLAs and 25 MPs to play a key role in Delhi politics.
Taking a dig at YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for making allegations on TDP over death of his uncle Vivekananda Reddy, the TDP chief said Jagan was hiding facts and trying to mislead the people on the issue despite the results of post-mortem telling a different story.
Turning his ire at Talangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Naidu said the person who served under him was trying to dictate to him now. He accused BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting the interests of newly-formed AP.
On Polavaram, he promised to release water from Left canal by December. Former Amalapuram MP G V Harsha Kumar joined the party on the occasion. Welcoming into party fold by wrapping him in party shawl, the Chief Minister described him at good leader who has mass support.
In Viziagaram, the Chief Minister urged the people to compare the TDP with the opposition. "Ours is a genuine, honest party in India. We have been selecting candidates based only on worthiness while the other party is offering seats only for the rich but not the common workers of the party. Their motto is looting the state," he said.
He said he and P Ashok Gajapathi Raju entered the politics same time and ha been working together for the past few decades. "People need to support and bless the hard working leaders like us," he said.
He said Botcha Satyanarayana and Chinna Srinu had looted the district and swindled the money in the name of Volkswagen but avoided prosecution and enjoying their life. "We won't tolerate such criminals. I will be the caretaker of this district, I will develop the district in all aspects," he said and asked the people to bless the party once again.
