A big 'Sarv-dharma' prayer ritual was held at the newly built Parliament building, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended it with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and numerous Cabinet ministers. With varied building materials collected from India's numerous regions, the new Parliament Building will embody the spirit of India. The Ashoka Chakras inside both residences were supplied from Indore, while the sandstone for the structure was shipped from Samthura in Rajasthan.
After the puja, PM Modi was presented with the famed "Sengol," and he then went on to install it in the new Parliament structure. There will be two stages to the inauguration itself.
