Ongole: When fruits are made part of regular diet, there will be no need of medicine to boost immunity, said G Ajay Kumar, chairman of Orchids Educational Institutions.

The Orchids school celebrated the National Nutrition Week from September 1 to 7.

The school observed fruits day on Friday, the last day of the nutrition week, in which the children participated with various getups of the fruits.

The school principals, M Sridevi and G Sravan Kumar explained the importance of the fruits and how they help the body to maintain the immune system.

They explained the children about the issues and health problems that would be caused by the nutrition deficiency.

Ajay Kumar explained that those who loves health, also loves the fruits.

He said those who consume an apple a day, need not consume a pill any day.

He said that consuming seasonal fruits helps the immune system to adjust to the seasons.

They organised fruits day on Friday to mark the importance of them in our life.

He said that a number of children were suffering from malnutrition and suggested the parents to offer a fruit after the meal to their children to boost immunity and nutrition levels in the body.
