YSRCP complains to EC against Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Sunday complained to the Election Commission (EC) against actor and TDP- BJP star campaigner Pawan Kalyan for the latter’s alleged comments which attract violation of election code. The party’s three-member delegation led by senior leader K Shiva Kumar submitted a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal and urged him to initiate action against Pawan.

They said the actor and Jana Sena Party leader had appealed to the people at a public meeting held at Tekkali in Srikakulam district to accept the bribes from other parties in whichever manner and vote in favour of the TDP. His comments were nothing but abetting the people and it was a crime under section 107, 171 E and 171 F of IPC of Representation of People’s Act 1951, the YSRCP leaders added. They also requested the EC take the print and electronic media reports into consideration on Pawan’s comments and take stern action against the actor. In another complaint, the YSRCP leaders said that the TDP activists were harassing their party candidate for Uravakonda Assembly Constituency in Anantapur district and demanded that action be taken against the TDP candidate, P Keshav.
