New Delhi: YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP V Vijay Sai Reddy here on Wednesday urged the Centre to intervene and settle the transporters' issue at the earliest as the lorry strike in the two Telugu States, in particular, was posing immense hardships to the people.
Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, the MP said the transporters strike had adversely impacted the movement of goods in the country as thousands of lorries had been held up all along on the highways. Apart from people in general, farmers were the worst affected as their produce was rotting in the markets without any means of transport.
The strike was also impacting the supply and prices of all essential commodities and vegetables, he said. He said the Centre should immediately hold a dialogue and resolve the issue.
