Hyderabad: Telangana State Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali participated in 'Sunday 10 minutes at 10 am cleanliness drive' and took up cleaning and beautifying the garden at his official residence in Ministers Quarters in Banjara Hills on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister said that a person who maintains cleanliness and personal hygiene stays healthy and protected from diseases.

He said that the 'Sunday 10 minutes at 10 am cleanliness' drive was being implemented by the government across the state to avoid seasonal diseases which occur during the rainy season.

He said, "Cleanliness does not mean just cleaning inside our houses, we need to maintain cleanliness in our surroundings also. If everyone owns up this responsibility, then the whole neighbourhood and city would become clean.

With regards to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the State, Mahmood Ali urged the people to strictly continue adhering to precautionary measures, especially in the monsoon season.

Pointing out that Coronavirus outbreak would not end based on statement issued by doctors and health experts as no vaccine has been developed yet, he urged people to continue adhering to the precautionary measures prescribed by the authorities concerned, such as maintaining social distancing, wearing masks in public places and take all other precautionary measures and guidelines.

He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was worried and concerned about the people of the State over Covid-19 pandemic He asked the people to fulfil their responsibility by supporting the government and the police in eradicating the Coronavirus.

He advised the elders not to leave their homes and requested the people not to gather in large numbers.
