In a tragic incident, a man drowned while swimming in the Telugu Ganga canal in Chittoor district. The deceased identified as Murari Kumar (19), a native of Bihar, and is working at a leather industry in the district.

He went to the canal-bed to wash his clothes and got into the water for swimming along with his friends. As the inflow was high in the canal, he swept away with the water force.
His friends noticed him, immediately informed the police. On receiving the information, the police reached the site and initiated the search operation. The locals found the dead body in the Telugu Ganga canal near Naganandapuram and informed the police.
The police arrived at the spot and identified it as Murari Kumar. They have registered a case, shifted the body to the government hospital for post-mortem and passed on the information to the deceased family members.
