Hyderabad: Food & Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha made a strong pitch before the Centre to allocate 25 lakh LPG connections to the State under Prime Minister Ujwala Yojana and liberal financial assistance to the State to deploy end-to-end computerisation to strengthen the public distribution system in AP.

Making a presentation at the consultative meeting of the Ministers for Civil Supplies of various States held at Delhi on Saturday, the Minister read out a list of reforms rolled out by the State government which are in line with the Centre's agenda.

As part of these reforms, Sunitha said that though the State has been facing several hardships on financial front, it has been pro-actively implementing National Food Security Act (NFSA), as part of the welfare reform to
empower people.

Similarly, the State government's initiative to implement the MDBTL in the distribution of kerosene and linking the Aadhaar with ration cards has saved an amount of Rs 45.83 crore for the Centre.

As the State has been implementing every one of positive reforms envisaged by the Centre, the Minister asked the Centre to extend its cooperation to the State to meet its needs on civil supplies front.
