​Vijayawada: A workshop was held on Development Opportunities in Capital Amaravati by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Regional Development Authority (APCRDA) exclusively for the members of the Builder Associations and Farmer representatives here on Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, Incharge Commissioner of CRDA, Ch Sridhar mentioned that huge opportunities present in the building sector at capital region should be utilised properly by the builders in collaboration with farmers. Safeguarding the interests of farmers, they would take the suggestions of builders to the notice of authorities in terms of building the capital city, he added.

He explained that the allotment of land to farmers would be done through releasing LPS notification from August 15 as the process in Nelapadu village was completed. Measures were taken to provide concrete roads, underground drainage, drinking water and electricity to the constructions that would take place in the region within a period of three years. Meanwhile, usable roads, water and electricity along with basic amenities would be arranged under a period of three months to the region, he asserted.

On the occasion, Commissioner asked the builders to become a part in construction of the capital city. “Farmers and builders have to come together for making the capital city a better place and there are many options left in the region to do that. CRDA will always support both parties to grow together,” he said.

Andhra Pradesh Real Estate Developers Association (APREDA) submitted their proposals to the Commissioner and also declared that they would bring in an investment of Rs 500 crore. Speaking on the occasion, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) representatives opined that frequent meetings on these issues would help in building a strong understanding among them.

A power point presentation of the capital design, infrastructure and planning was given by the CRDA officials to the gathering. International stakeholders representing various companies, Additional Commissioner of CRDA V Rammohan Rao, Directors R Ramakrishna Rao, Ramudu, JSRK Sastry and others attended the meeting.
